Classroom Carnival Raffle Basket FAQs
What Are the Carnival Raffle Baskets?
Carnival raffle baskets are themed gift baskets curated by parent volunteers to represent each class at Middleton. These baskets are fully funded by family donations. Baskets are on display at the school for a week leading up to the event, and students purchase raffle tickets throughout the week and at carnival for a chance to win one for their family.
How Can I Donate Toward My Student’s Class Basket?
You may click the link here to donate through our secure Square page, or drop off a check or cash at the front office. Please include your child’s full name, teacher and grade level whether giving online or in person. We ask parents to consider donating $25, but any amount helps! Your student will receive 2 raffle tickets for any donation amount, and an additional ticket for every $5 donated (not to exceed 10 tickets).
How Can I Sign Up to Put Together a Classroom Raffle Basket?
Please click the link here to access our sign-up form. If a theme is already listed, please choose a different theme so each basket remains unique. Please include your email address so we can contact you if we have questions about your basket or reimbursement.
What Themes Can I Choose?
The theme is completely up to you and the teacher. You’re welcome to either choose a theme you’d personally be excited to win or share 2–3 theme ideas with the teacher and allow the class to vote.
Past basket themes have included:
Summer toys
Summer treats
Beach theme
Pokémon
Arts & crafts
Zoo
Animals
Sports
Camping
Once a theme is selected, please record it on the Google Sheet linked here so we can avoid duplicate themes.
How Does Shopping Work?
Once class donations are collected, we will notify you of the total amount available for your basket so you can plan your shopping. You are welcome to purchase items that fit your chosen theme and solicit in-kind donations from local businesses to enhance the basket.
How Do I Get Reimbursed? Am I Spending My Own Money?
You will receive your class basket budget by April 20, based on the number of parent donations we receive.
Reimbursement details:
You will be reimbursed for the approved budget amount
PAC allows up to $10 over the provided amount so you don’t have to hit the total exactly
You may collect additional donations to enhance the basket
Some volunteers choose to contribute their own funds beyond the provided amount (optional)
⚠️ Receipts are required for reimbursement, so please save them. You’ll find the link for submitting reimbursements on the Carnival Raffle Basket Instructions page.
What Do I Do When I’m Done Shopping?
Once all items are gathered:
Place them in a basket or container if appropriate
Do not wrap the basket — PAC will provide large wrap bags and decorative bows
Oversized baskets are completely fine. We have had people use wagons, coolers, firepits, and more as their “basket” in the past!
Please drop off the completed basket in the main office on Monday, May 4.
When dropping off:
Include a detailed description of all items in the basket. This handout was provided to you, but you may also print another copy of it linked here.
Complete the online reimbursement form linked here.
